Course Selection + Learning Agreement
Please use the EWP system to create your Online Learning Agreement (OLA).
- If you register me as the Depart. ERASMUS coordinator of the Institute of Media Studies, I will automatically receive your OLA for signature.
You can find all courses offered in English in our International Course Catalog.
- Please choose preferably from our Media Studies courses.
- Find more courses that are suitable for Media Culture Studies from the English Department.
In the Annotated Course Catalog of the IfM you will find all Media Studies courses, mainly taught in German.

Financing – Scholarships for international students –
The International office offers help with different Scholarships– both for refugee students and for regular international students who are enrolled in a regular course of study at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

Application period | Deadlines:
The application period for our scholarships runs from 09 July to 04 August 2025 (for University Entrance Scholarship until 18 August 2025)!
- An application is possible online only. You will find the access link to the application portal in the respective scholarship description when the application period begins.
- On the International Office homepage you will find all the templates you need for the application, as well as tips and information on each document you need to submit. In addition, you will also find a compilation of the most frequently questions (FAQ) for each individual scholarship.
